Because of the reports about the likelihood of severe winter weather this weekend, please remember that no one is required to sacrifice their safety and well-being to attend Sunday Mass. We should not lightly exempt ourselves from the obligation to attend Mass, but dangerous roads and icy conditions provide a good reason to stay at home. Live-streamed masses, reading the Scriptures of the day, prayer as a family can all be good ways to keep holy the Lord’s Day when it is not safe to go to Mass.

Debido a los reportes sobre la probabilidad de condiciones severas de clima invernal este fin de semana, les recordamos que nadie está obligado a poner en riesgo su seguridad y bienestar para asistir a la Misa dominical. No debemos eximirnos a la ligera de la obligación de asistir a la Misa, pero las carreteras peligrosas y las condiciones de hielo constituyen una razón válida para permanecer en casa. Las misas transmitidas en vivo, la lectura de las Escrituras del día y la oración en familia pueden ser buenas maneras de santificar el Día del Señor cuando no es seguro asistir a la Misa.
